About Harbour Centre

The Harbour Centre Port Terminal Inc. has seen it coming.

With water transport accounting for 100% of the domestic trade volume of 3.32 million metric tons in the fourth quarter of 2021 alone, the need for seaports across the archipelago’s 7,641 islands cannot be overemphasized.

So, too, with the country’s total merchandise maritime trade valued at some US$155 million by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) for the year 2020 alone.

About Harbour Centre Port Terminal Inc.

No wonder Harbour Centre Port Terminal Inc. (HCPTI) has fully geared itself up for a big role in the country’s port industry, marshalling capital, expertise and all the required resources for top quality port operations across the archipelago.

The best example of this port management competency is how the HCPTI has transformed a 10-hectare property at the reclaimed 79-hectare Manila Harbour Centre into the country’s first and only private international bulk and breakbulk commercial port and the largest of its kind.

The HCPTI designed that 10-hectare facility to include more than a kilometer-long quays and the hosting of government offices involved in processing cargo documents, enabling the company to achieve unprecedented turnaround time for both cargo and carriers and earn three ISO certifications -- Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015), Occupational Health & Safety Management System (ISO 45001:2018) and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001-2015), as well as the International Shipping and Port Facility Standard (ISPS).

The HCPTI also introduced the so-called “U-PORT system” for real-time monitoring and tracking of cargoes, enabling clients to locate and determine the status of their shipments online at any given time.

Constituting the system are an army of professionals, iron-clad protocols and a CCTV network called “Eye in the Sky”, whose 360-degree coverage goes beyond the port premises and out into the sea, enabling advance monitoring of incoming vessels even in the dead of night.

Such operating efficiencies involving asset and resource development, mobilization and management have thus enabled the HCPTI to strengthen its position for even bigger port-related projects ahead, both in the Philippines and overseas.
