RMR Capital, Inc.

ABOUT PHIL. ECOLOGY SYSTEMS CORPORATION

The company was established in 1998 by a group of pioneering young businessmen who had dreamt of blazing new trail and exploring frontiers. It came at a most opportune circumstance as Metro Manila then were practically on the verge of plunging deep into the abyss of a garbage crisis. The San Mateo Sanitary Landfill in San Mateo, Rizal, the largest government owned waste disposal facility ceased operations in 2000 and there was no other viable alternative site except for an open dumpsite like the Payatas dump in Quezon City. The company started acquiring a patch of abandoned fishponds in Navotas City and converted it into a controlled disposal facility in accordance with the standards set by the National Solid Waste Commission pursuant to RA 9003 also known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.

Phil. Ecology Systems Corp.

In 2006, in keeping with the provisions of RA 9003 that terminated the practice of open and controlled dumping, PhilEco inaugurated a new disposal facility adopting the engineering sanitary landfill system.

The new 40-hectare site was adjacent to the old closed dump and was constructed observing the strict standard for Category 4 engineering sanitary landfill. The entire disposal area is fitted with protective barriers including leachate and gas treatment facilities. As the disposal facility is located in a bay area and is not accessible by land, the company also developed a marine loading station at the former Pier 18 in Vitas Tondo, Manila with a fleet of 5 barges to complement its transport operations.

Phil. Ecology Systems Corp.

PhilEco carries an ISO 9001:2015 certification under TURV NORD GmbH. with core competence in sanitary landfill and wastewater treatment design, construction and operation. Its waste transfer and disposal operations are fully covered by a consolidated Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and accredited by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) as a waste disposal facility for Metro Manila Local Government Units.
