DR. REGHIS MAGDANGAL ROMERO II

The Chairman

Businessman-turned-diplomat Dr. Reghis M. Romero II is the founding chairman of RMR Capital Inc. and its subsidiaries RII Builders, Inc., Harbour Centre Port Terminal Inc., PhilEcology Systems Corp., R Land Development Inc., and Harbour Centre Port Terminal Inc. Port and Development Inc. until he was appointed Presidential Envoy to Japan in January 2022.

In less than a decade after having been incorporated on September 8, 1988 by Dr. Romero II, R-II Builders under his stewardship was cited in Businessworld’s Top 1000 Corporations in the Philippines as the Most Profitable Company of 1997.

Dr. Romero II is president of the Philippine Chapter of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI-Philippines) and vice president of FIABCI World Council of Developers and Investors; chairman of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) Advisory Council; auxiliary commander of the 101st Auxiliary Squadron of the Philippine Coast Guard; member of the PNP Regional Advisory, Region 3; director and past national president and chairman of the Council of Leaders of the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Associations (CREBA); supreme commander of the Order of the Knights of Rizal from 2012 to 2014 and deputy supreme commander from 2010 to 2012; member of the Board of Regents of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines from school years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019; and recipient of the Nation Builder Award from Biz News Asia in November 2018, Kaibigan Award from the PNP – Manila Police District in 2016, Pro-Patria Award from the Order of the Knights of Rizal in Vigan City in 2015, PAMANA Award from the local government and the people of Angeles City in 2014, Most Outstanding Kapampangan for Exemplary Achievements from the Kapampangan Press Club in 2009 and for Business and Civic Consciousness from the Provincial Government of Pampanga in 1996, Most Outstanding

Dr. Romero II is Chairman of the Board of the Dean Bonifacio Romero Foundation and three-time awardee of The Legends of Philippine Real Estate from Biz News Asia Real Estate Who’s Who (BREW).

Dr. Romero II has also received a Doctorate Fellowship from the United Kingdom’s Academy of Multi-Skills in 2019, a Diplomate in Real Estate Management from FIABCI in 2018, and Honoris Causa Doctor in Humanities from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He also sits in the Board of Trustees of the City College of Angeles.

Dr. Romero II is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service at the University of the Philippines – Diliman and Masters in Business Economics at the University of Asia and the Pacific.

Salvador R. Cortez, Jr.

THE PRESIDENT

Salvador R. Cortez, Jr., is the President and CEO of the RMR Capital Inc. He has been a Director of the Company since July of 2019. Prior to his appointment, he was the Executive Vice President and Head of the Shared Services Group of the Company and previously as the Group Chief Finance Officer.

Before Joining RMR Capital Inc, Mr. Cortez was the Group Chief Finance Officer of the Oriental Hospitality and Resorts Inc, as Resident Manager (RM) of the Dusit Thani Manila for 5 years.

Prior to his promotion to RM role, he held the position of Director Finance for almost 4 years in the same hotel. He also served in various capacities overseas for almost 5 years in the field of Finance and Accounting and in property development. He helped set up the Opera Hotel in Kiev and the Donbass Palace in Donetsk Ukraine, the reopening of Burlington Hotel, a 5 star hotel in the Dublin and the Parknasilla Resort in Sneem County Kerry Ireland. He was also the Pre-opening Financial Controller of Vinpearl Resort and Spa in Hontre Island Nha Trang Vietnam. He also played a major role in the restructuring of the Ten Knots Development Corporation, the owner of the famous El Nido Resorts in Palawan when he was then its Financial Controller. Most notable achievement was his role in the opening of the Lagen Island Resort and the organization of the company’s aviation arm, the Island Transvoyager Inc (Now Airswift). He also became the Financial Controller of the first Accor Resort in the Philippines as its Financial Controller of the then Novotel Puerto Azul Resort in Ternate Cavite.
He has also served as the Internal Audit Head of Baguio Golf and Country Club for 3 years after his stint with Sycip Gorres Velayo and Company(SGV) as an Audit Staff after graduating from College.

Mr. Cortez was a member of the Shareholders Philippines Inc (Sharephil) and the Hotel and Restaurants Financial Officers of the Philippines (Harfophil) and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountant (PICPA). He received his Bachelor of Science in Commerce Degree major in Accounting from the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City where he was a consistent Deans Lister and an active student leader. He took up his Secondary Education from the Bicol University College of Agriculture and Forestry where he graduated Valedictorian. He also completed his Management Development Program from the Asian Institute of Management in 2017
